Step-by-Step Comprehensive Exam Registration Guidelines

For candidates taking the comprehensive exam online at an in-person testing site.

1 Complete the required coursework

Successfully complete the twelve core PSC modules and the AASC SC modules at least 30 days before sitting for the exam.

2 Review the examination guidelines

Read the published examination requirements and expectations before selecting a testing site or registration date.

3 Register your interest in taking the exam

Indicate that you plan to take the exam online by registering your interest at least five business days in advance.

4 Upload your documentation

Upload proof that you completed the Service Coordinator Foundations modules, plus documentation showing either qualifying experience or an eligible degree.

Review the documentation page for the upload destination.

5 Pay the comprehensive exam fee if a balance is due

Payments by check or credit card can be made on your account page. If paying by check, an invoice will be generated and available for download. Testing-site fees are separate and are the candidate's responsibility.

6 Schedule your testing site and send the details to Ohio State

Identify a convenient National College Testing Association site, or another approved local college or university testing center, and schedule the exam directly with that site.

  • Ask for a testing-site contact person and email address.
  • Email aging@osu.edu with the site location, contact information, and your exam date and time.
  • Bring state or federal-issued photo identification that matches the name on your AASC account.

7 Review the study tips

Review the Study Tips before exam day so you know what to expect and how to prepare.

Renewal Reminder

All PSCs are required to renew their PSC designation. To retain the designation, AASC requires renewal every three years by accumulating 36 hours of continuing education. For more information about PSC renewal, visit the Program Requirements page.
